Survival Pods for Homeless
Gary Pickering, once technically a homeless man after a divorce, has come up with a way to reach out to others. In 1988, he lived in his shop for three years, and there were times when he had homeless people living outside of it. He invited those people to sleep in his van through that tough winter of 1988.
In 2013, he hasn’t forgotten what it was like to relate to others without a home to go to. He still wanted to take it to the next step, and find a way to help others in need. That was when he came up with the idea for micro shelters–or also known as Survival pods.
