10 Things that are Stopping India from Progressing

India Vision 2020! Yes that’s what we call it. This very term is used to denote India as a developed country by 2020. Well, it could be possible, but I doubt it. We Indians are so much indulged in many off the beat mundane things due to which I think we must re-plan our vision to something like 3020! What had been done in 2010 itself is being inculcated by rash ideas and things which are still retarding the pace of development. Here, we came up with 10 very strong points which are hollowing India. Here is the list:-

10) Infrastructure:

Infrastructure is not just a term; it is a hub of myriad of energies. Roadways, buildings, colleges, godowns, railway etc. these all constitute this section. But we are still on short hands with all of these. We haven’t got very good roadways system, as the roadways are root of any type of trade or means of transport, we lack behind here. Talking about buildings and colleges, many of these were built long back (I think we must go for carbon dating to calculate their actual built up date…hahhh!). Railways, we all know that Indian railway is one of the biggest railway networks in the world, added to which it holds a rank 9 in employing largest number of people. But, again why we are still using forbidden technologies in this area which should have all the latest equipped systems and engines?!

9) Defence dependencies:

We all do praise our ‘Armed forces’; be it Army, be it Navy or be it Airforce. They are the ones who are protecting us in lieu of their own life and their family’s security. Holding firm that’s what they do all the time from the day they join ‘Armed forces’. Then why this sector is not independent? Why they still have to take orders from our government to incept a step? Why we still import 70% of the arms and gadgets from countries like Russia, America etc.? Why?! Are we incapable of generating them here? Are we so clumsy beings that we should all the time raise our hands not for a revolution but to begging? Our defence system is very much dependent, which must be given its own jurisdictions.

8) Our Neighbours:

Ahh our dear dear neighbours! We are surrounded by Sri Lanka in south, by China in North region, by Pakistan in west and by Bangladesh in east (and there are many other countries, but we’ll talk mainly about these). Now, for a country which is surrounded by many such countries which are all really powerful economically as well as terms of powers, then such country is bound to take every step with very sincere care! Every country neighbouring India is equipped with nuclear weapons, so any blunder may cause a 3rd world war. Just to maintain the normalcy, India is bound to compromise with many development projects or ideas. We make visions but are unable to execute many of them because of our neighbouring nations.

7) Naxalism and terrorism:

The two major factors which retard us in all respects are Naxalism and Terrorism. We launch a new policy and there comes an AK47, demanding their needs; we elect a superior leader and there comes a suicide bomb to exhume him! Yes, we ourselves are reason for the inception of Naxalism and terrorism, but we ourselves are incapable of dealing with these menace now. We are to protect our people and our existence so we find ourselves in conditions negotiating with these people, which kick us back.

6) Unawareness:

We all must have listened to CII speech of Rahul Gandhi. In his speech he quoted one point which was, a friend of him came to India from U.S. looking for a solution to a problem related to Engineering, he suggested him to go to an IIT and ask a professor for it. The person did the same and when he came back, he told Mr. Gandhi that, that professor was amazing! He solved his problem very intuitively for just a couple of thousand rupees, which actually worth millions. Now, that’s the unawareness we are webbed with. People don’t know their worth here just because of this unawareness. We confine ourselves to a cocoon.

5) Economic imbalance:

Amir-Gareeb that’s what we call this system. Rich people exploit poor ones and dominate them in all respect that they never ever try to raise their voices to raise their standard of living. According to a survey report, there are 36% malnourished and 38% overweighed children living in Delhi itself. Now, what does it shows? Rich ones will over exhaust the resources no matter what! And poor one will have to take care of their bellies with what left for them (if any). The gap is not narrowing, instead, it is dilating day by day.

4) Educational methodology:

Yes, it is a fact that we Indians generate one of the best Engineers, Doctors, Entrepreneurs etc. etc. in this world. But, tell me one thing which is, is this ‘I’ factor alone can generate best of bests? Can only IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMS alone produce great people? No! Our educational system has many flaws at different levels of abstraction. Starting from schools till higher education, there are loop holes which are not at all easy to pour. We here learn theories and never ever learn how to execute them in practicality. It is simply pointless in learning something which you can’t actually apply in your day to day life. We are not making our generation industry ready, instead we are just throwing pebbles on them and saying them to digest it.

3) Youth ideology:

We live in a country where we have maximum number of youth population than any other country in this world. Utilising youths in the best possible way, does the toughest task for any country. Youths are the ones which can tear and mould any situation in front of them to an era of serendipity. Coming to the point, let me clear you something. 90% and above people use facebook; just pull out a second of your’s or two from updating your status and jump to the ‘About’ section of any youth’s profile and I am dam sure that about 80% of them will have this thing written in their political views: “I hate politics, it is drain of malfunctioned machine…………” I ask why? Are we not eligible to be a politician, a leader, a social worker? If we ourselves will have such a view then my friend this is ‘Kalyug’ and all gods are busy in their schedule. So, there won’t be anyone escorting you from the danger. Keeping such a view while living in world’s largest democracy will simply screw you!

2)Hindu–Muslim:

In 1992 we faced babri masjid verdict, in 2002 we faced Godhara Kand in Gujrat and what else if we look back into history. There was a person named Mahatma Gandhi Ji, who took a step to create harmony between Hindus and Muslims but, it failed! What Britishers did to us is very much clear to each and everyone. And I bet, someone else will be doing the same thing in future by bifurcating Hindus and Muslims, all it needs is a little spark. No matter how much we forge ahead in this scenario, if we are incapable of making Hindus and Muslims one, no progress would be seen in near 1000 years.

1) Female discrimination:

The biggest problem which we have, which is stopping India from progressing is ‘Female discrimination’. We are totally unaware of the powers in women. They are the ones which can escalate growth to the 200% higher rate than now. But still, we are indulged in cases like dowry, female foeticide, rape and what else. If GDP of our country is to be increased then we must support our women in all respect. If we consider countries like U.S., China, France and many more we can easily see that the real power they have is their women. Talking about India, we are nowhere near to it yet.

So these were the 10 things which are stopping India from progressing. Wait!! Did I miss anything? What was it that I missed? Ohhhh, ya ya CORRUPTION!!

Actually, I never missed it. Corruption is something which is a part of every single point written above. For time being let’s take an example of ‘road’, if roads are build excellently then there wasn’t any corruption involved, another one if females are given equal opportunity then people have worked honestly, again no corruption!
