Kamal Haasan's 'Marudhanayagam' at the Cannes film market

Looks like Kamal Haasan is going all out to revive 'Marudhanayagam', which was put in cold storage several years ago owing to financial crises. The poster of Marudhanayagam displayed with Sangamithra at the Cannes 2017, has fuelled speculations that superstar Kamal Haasan has revived his dream project.

The period film, which revolves around the life of the 18th century warrior Mohammad Yusuf Khan, was expected to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English. Though the film kick-started in 1997, it was shelved due to various reasons.

Earlier this year, the film was set to be revived by Ayngaran International and Lyca International, who are currently bankrolling Rajinikanth starrer 'Endhiran 2'. The speculations was due to Ayngaran International posting a picture of Kamal Haasan's Marudhanayagam. Now, the poster of the film displayed at the Cannes has strengthened the rumours that the star actor is looking to revive the project as soon as possible.

Kamal Haasan had earlier revealed that several of his friends abroad are willing to finance this venture and Kamal is being prodded to consider taking up Marudhanayagam and finish it off as a treat for his loyal fans.

UPSC IAS Prelims Admit Card 2017 : Now Candidates Can Download UPSC IAS Prelims 2017 Admit Card/Hall Tickets. Candidates can download Admit Cards from official website of the Union Public Service Commission at upsc.gov.in. According to Union Government, a total of 980 Office Holders will be selected this year through UPSC Civil Services Exam 2017. UPSC Released Notification in February this year. As per the existing calendar of the Commission, the preliminary examination will be held on 18 June 2017.





Candidates may now download the IAS admit card/Hall Tickets from the official website using their Registration number and details. Even though the admit cards were scheduled to be released just three weeks prior to the written examination date, UPSC released them earlier. www.upsc.gov.in. Due to the huge number of users on the UPSC website candidates may face technical issues in downloading their admit card/hall tickets, so the candidates are advised to stay calm and refresh the website in a short interval of time.

Admit card link will be active till 18 June 2017. However candidates are suggested to download at the earliest in order to avoid last minute rush.

A total of 1,079 and 1,164 vacancies were reported to be filled through the civil services examinations 2016 and 2015, respectively. Those who clear the prelims can appear for the main exam which is scheduled to be held on October 10, 2017.

Triple talaq: Will issue advisory against practice, says Muslim law board to Supreme Court

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Monday, filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in the Triple Talaq matter.

In its affidavit, AIMPLB said that it would issue an advisory requesting individuals who perform the nikah (marriage) to follow the following steps.

Firstly, the individual performing the nikah will advise the bridegroom that in case of differences leading to a divorce, the bridegroom shall not say talaq thrice in one sitting. "This is an undesirable practice in Shariat," said the law board in its affidavit.

Secondly, the individual performing the nikah will advise both the bride and the bridegroom to incorporate a condition in 'nikahnama' to exclude resorting to pronuncement of three divorces by her husband in one sitting.

A five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar has reserved its verdict on a clutch of pleas challenging the constitutional validity of triple talaq among Muslims.

BSNL offers 2GB data per day, unlimited calling for Rs 339

BSNL said that the data of 2 GB per day is one of the best in the industry. Customers will also get 25 minutes of free call to other network everyday.

To counter threat from Reliance Jio, state-run telecom firm BSNL launched a new plan that offers 2 GB of 3G data per day and unlimited calling within its network for Rs 339. “The benefits customer will get under the Combo STV (special tariff voucher) of Rs 339 are unlimited calls in BSNL network and unlimited data with fair use policy of 2 GB per day with validity of 28 days,” BSNL said in a statement.

The offer is limited for 90 days. Reliance Jio is offering 1GB of 4G data and unlimited calling to all network for free till March 31. From April 1 onward, Reliance Jio customers opting for Jio Prime service will get unlimited data and calls till March 31, 2018, for one time registration fee of Rs 99 and Rs 303 per month.

BSNL said that the data of 2 GB per day is one of the best in the industry. “We are committed to providing affordable and efficient services to all segment of our loyal mobile customers. We offer best prices to our customers considering present trend of Indian telecom industry,” BSNL Director for Consumer Mobility RK Mittal said.

BSNL customers under the new scheme will also get 25 minutes of free call to other network everyday and after that they will be charged 25 paisa for minute long phone call.

The development comes on the heels of announcement of Reliance Jio’s Prime membership programme. Jio’s data tariffs remain the cheapest in the country in both prepaid and postpaid categories. Rival Airtel, on the other hand, is giving away 30GB free data for three months to its postpaid customers, which can be availed before March 31.
